Understanding the Financial Aid Distribution Process
Your financial aid will be applied to your tuition once you are enrolled at least half-time (6 credits undergraduate/3 credits graduate), and all required documentation has been submitted. The Office of Business and Finance will directly credit your aid to your account. If your financial aid does not cover the full charges, you are responsible for paying the remaining balance or opting for a payment plan. If your financial aid, including loans, exceeds the charges, you may be eligible for a refund check issued by the Office of Business and Finance.
Loans for the academic year are disbursed in two equal payments, one in the fall and the other in the spring. However, if you are enrolled for only one semester, your loan disbursement will be made in a single payment. Should you wish to modify a loan, provide a dated and signed note (not electronic) to the Office of Financial Aid. This note should indicate the academic year for the loan (e.g., 2021-22), the revised loan amount, and the student’s name to which the change applies. Please ensure that this note is submitted before any adjustments can be made to the loan.
