Reading Teacher License
Marian University’s online Reading Teacher License program prepares experienced educators to earn their Wisconsin Reading Teacher (316) license and lead literacy instruction from kindergarten through high school. Designed for Wisconsin licensed teachers with at least two years of classroom experience, this flexible, 18-credit program builds your expertise in reading foundations, assessment, intervention strategies, and literacy instruction across grades PK–12—all in a format that lets you continue working while you learn.
With coursework grounded in research and practical application, you’ll expand your skill set, strengthen your classroom impact, and qualify for roles where literacy leadership matters most. Whether you’re passionate about helping struggling readers or advancing your instructional credentials, Marian gives you the tools to make a difference.
This graduate-level program leads to a reading teacher add-on license No. 316 granted under Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
