Master of Arts in Education in Teacher Education with License

Marian University’s online graduate programs are built for aspiring educators who want high-quality instruction, flexibility, and personalized support. Through Marian’s innovative online learning platform, you can earn your Master of Arts in Education (MAE) in Teacher Education while balancing work, life, and your professional goals.

This program includes both Field Experience and Student Teaching.

Field experience hours provide hands-on classroom observation, allowing you to see the skills you’re learning put into practice. You’ll gain experience across multiple grade levels throughout your licensure program. These real-world experiences give you opportunities to apply course concepts, observe live teaching and assessment, and engage with instruction across core subjects including reading, language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics.

Student teaching is the culminating experience of your program, placing you in a classroom under the guidance of a supervising teacher. You’ll plan lessons, teach students, and apply everything you’ve learned while building confidence to lead your own classroom. During this time, you’ll take on increasing responsibility—leading small groups or entire classes and supporting students with a wide range of needs and abilities.
