This position promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students by, leading, guiding, and counseling transfer and international students throughout the enrollment process.
Essential Functions:
Administrative – 50%
- Researches and provides accurate information about Marian University’s degree programs and admission procedures for prospective first-year, international, transfer, and returning students.
- Engages with current CRM, University databases, and other technology recruitment strategies; actively recommends ideas and process improvements.
- Evaluates college transcripts to determine whether the student meets admission guidelines. Reads, interprets, and evaluates students’ academic credentials and makes admission/denial and scholarship decisions
- Serve as one of the University’s individuals with access to the SEVIS system to input and update student records, generate 1-20 forms, and assist international students throughout the application and student visa process.
- Maintains confidentiality and security in regard to all information and records.
- Recommends and implements strategies to meet enrollment goals for transfer, and international students.
- Communicates effectively with Enrollment Services members to meet enrollment goals.
- Participates in work related evening and weekend events.
Recruitment – 30%
- Assumes the responsibility for the recruitment of transfer and international students.
- Effectively communicates the benefits and opportunities of a Marian University education to potential students from initial inquiry to the time of enrollment.
- Manages visits at community and technical colleges, college fairs, businesses, and other venues based on past data for the purpose of recruiting transfer students.
- Conducts information sessions and individual appointments, when necessary.
- Assists with new student registrations and orientation sessions.
Counsels – 15%
- Provides basic financial aid information to prospective students and families, including explanation for the financial aid process; works with the family to determine a comprehensive financial plan for attendance at the University.
- Helps prospective students identify the best academic program and delivery modality for the student and counsels students appropriately.
- Maintains a positive work environment by cooperating in a professional manner with the University Community.
Other Responsibility:
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned -5%
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and register with the University as an authorized driver.
- Ability to travel and work with student in rural, urban, and metropolitan areas.
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and Web tools essential.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students and interact effectively with all campus. departments and participates as part of the campus management team.
- Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.
- Flexibility with an evolving work situation.
- Experience in higher education preferred.
- Admission or sales career experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Willingness to support the mission and core values of the University.
Salary Range: $45K – $55K
