Juniors Giuliano Corazzina and Drew Cowden along with senior Chase Hayden of Marian University men’s soccer have been named to the All-Wisconsin team, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches organization.
Corazzina (Park Ridge, Ill.) proved himself as one of the best scorers in the nation this season as he ranked ninth in the nation for goals scored and 10th in the country for total points at the end of the regular season. He concluded the season with 16 goals and 38 total points. Corazzina especially had a dominant October that saw him record 25 points and score at least one goal in seven of nine games. He also posted his first hat trick as a Sabre against Lawrence and added an assist to complete a seven-point game. Through just 37 career games, Corazzina ranks eighth on the Marian all-time scoring list with 69 points.
Cowden (Covington, Wash.) finished the season with eight goals with seven assists for 23 total points. He posted five points in a pair of games scoring twice with an assist against Aurora and at Dominican. Cowden also had a four-point game against Lakeland where he scored once and had a pair of assists. The Sabres were unbeaten this season when Cowden was able to find the back of the net. For his career, Cowden is tied for 14th on the Marian all-time scoring list and his 24 career assists is third all-time.
Hayden (Wauconda, Ill.) made the full-time transition to defense and served as a captain for the Sabres. He scored one goal against Edgewood and helped anchor a Sabre defense that posted three shutouts on the year. Hayden closes out his career having started in all 62 games he played in with 12 goals and six assists for 30 total points. He also netted five game-winning goals in his time at Marian.
