The Marian University eSports Rainbow Six Siege team (1-1) took the opening but Clark rallied for a 5-7, 7-2, 7-4 win.
MAP 1 – OREGON
- Marian began the evening on attack and Clark quickly took the opener by elimination.
- The Sabres were able to quickly bounce back taking the next three rounds all by defending the bomb.
- Clark responded as well with two elimination wins to tie the game at 3-3 going into the swap.
- Marian defended well taking the first two rounds via Clark running out of time to lead 5-3.
- Clark made sure to not let Marian run away with the game taking the next two rounds to tie the game again at 5-5.
- Marian then used two elimination victories to seal the win in game one.
MAP 2 – CLUBHOUSE
- Opening on defense, the Sabres fell behind 2-0 before taking round three.
- After trading a couple of rounds Clark found itself ahead 4-2 going into the switch.
- The Clark defense dominated following the switch taking the next three rounds; two by bomb defuse and one by elimination.
MAP – 3 CHALET
- The final game saw the two squads trade the first two rounds.
- Clark would take three of the next four games to take a 4-2 lead going into the switch.
- The Sabres had their backs against the wall after Clark took a 6-2 lead following the switch with two elimination wins.
- Marian was able to plant the bomb in the next two rounds to cut the deficit down to 6-4, but Clark sealed the match win with an elimination.
- Four of the five Sabres had at least 20 kills in its first defeat of the season.
- Three Marian student-athletes had double-digit kills on the opening map.
