The Marian University eSports Valorant team (2-0) knocked off Coe in two games 13-8, 13-4 behind a strong attack.

MAP 1 – ASCENT

  • Marian started on defense and bounced back from a game one loss to take a 3-1 lead.
  • After trading games, Coe was able to win three straight games and go ahead 5-4.
  • The Sabres were able to end defense strong, however, taking the next three games to go up 7-5 heading into the switch.
  • Coe was able to take the first two games after the switch to quickly the tie the map at 7-7.
  • Marian was able to rally once again, winning six of the next seven games to take the match, the final three coming by elimination.

MAP 2 – BREEZE

  • The Sabres started on defense again for map two and opened with two defuses for a quick 2-0 advantage.
  • Coe was able to get on the board with a win in game three, but the Sabres responded winning six of the next seven rounds to lead 8-2. The Sabres opened the run with three straight defuses.
  • Coe built momentum going into the switch taking the next two games to only trail 8-4.
  • The momentum didn’t matter, however, as Marian took the first five games in attack, all by elimination, to seal the win.
  • Marian had three student-athletes with at least 30 kills and everyone had at least 24 kills.
  • Marian had the first elimination 23 times to only 15 times for Coe.
  • The Sabres are now 2-0 on the map Breeze.
  • The Marian attack finished the match 11-3.
