Marian University Instructor Receives Madison Area Music Award

FOND DU LAC, Wis- Dr. David Spies, adjunct instructor in the Department of Music, received a 2012 Madison Area Music Award (MAMA) for Best Jazz Performer as part of the Madison Jazz Orchestra, beating out three other competitors. Spies and the Madison Jazz Orchestra performed at the 2012 MAMA's with a tribute to Doc DeHaven, a Madison jazz performer.
