Health Care Administration

Few industries are as complex or growing as quickly as that of health care. Now, more than ever, health care centers, hospitals, clinics, and organizations across Wisconsin need leaders with a broad and deep understanding of every facet of business that affects the services they provide and, ultimately, a healthy bottom line. Marian's BBA in Health Care Administration (HCA) program will enable you to develop knowledge and skills in a wide range of areas related to health care administration, while at the same time integrating your HCA studies with another business major to further set you apart in the eyes of employers.

Designed to meet the academic and professional needs of Wisconsin working adults looking to advance their careers, the Health Care Administration program will deliver to you knowledge and hands-on preparation in management, marketing, accounting, economics, personnel, finance, and law.

The Core

The BBA core curriculum will position you to explore a variety of essential areas related to business, from statistics, accounting, and microeconomics to business law, strategy and policy, business ethics, and many more. Additionally, the business core will enable you to develop and sharpen crucial skills in communication, critical thinking, leadership, and writing, among others.

 The Curriculum

The Health Care Administration curriculum includes an intricate blend of classroom knowledge and hands-on learning opportunities through class projects and internships with local health centers, agencies, and organizations. It's been crafted with significant input from executives at some of the state's most respected companies and organizations, and covers areas including economic aspects of health care, health care management and policy, medical terminology, and more.
