In addition to institutional accreditation, Marian University programs are accredited by professional organizations in their respective disciplines. Marian University programs that have specialty accreditation meet the standards of the field or profession.

Social Work

The Social Work Program is accredited through the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

The Association of Social Work Board maintains information about social work regulations and licensure requirements as a service to ASWB members and the public. Reports provide basic information about social work licensing in U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions and can be found on the ASWB website www.aswb.org.

Authorizations of licensures and certification in the Bachelor of Social Work include the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Virgin Islands, Wisconsin, Wyoming.


Education

All of the on-campus bachelor of science and online master of arts in education programs are approved educator preparation programs by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The Marian University Master of Arts in Education programs provide graduates the authorizations of licensures and certification in Wisconsin.


Educational Studies

The Marian University Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies Program provides graduates with knowledge and experience in the education profession.


Radiologic Technology

The Radiologic Technology Program is accredited by Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).  View our accredited radiology technology program’s completion rate and job placement rate on the JRCERT website. The Marian University Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology program provides graduates the authorizations of licensures and certification in all 50 states within the U.S.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The Marian University Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program provides graduates the authorizations of licensures and certification in all 50 states within the U.S.

The ARDMS ® (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) is one of the most recognized sonography license organizations across the United States and the world. The ARDMS offers ultrasound certificates in Abdomen, Breast, Echocardiography, Neurosonology, OB/GYN, Vascular Technology, and Musculoskeletal Sonography.  Graduates of the BS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography are encouraged to earn professional credentials through the ARDMS.


Nursing

Marian University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Administration) are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the master’s degree program in nursing at Marian University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Approvals

Marian has several approvals to demonstrate that students receive a quality education. These approvals demonstrate that we are held to programmatic and operational standards. Marian also holds memberships in several educational associations to ensure students a quality educational experience.

Authorization for Online Education

Marian offers several online programs designed with the nontraditional student in mind. Whether you take all online courses or mix online and face-to-face formats, you receive the same Marian University experience.

Marian is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). NC-SARA is an agreement “among member states and U.S. territories that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance-education courses and programs. It is intended to make it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state” (NC-SARA).

The Marian University Master of Arts in Education programs provide graduates the authorizations of licensures and certification in Wisconsin.

Higher Education Act (HEA)

Current federal regulations require that institutions of higher education disclose certain information and make it readily available to the general public, current students, current employees, prospective students, prospective employees, families of current or prospective students, or prospective student athletes and their parents, high school counselors, and coaches.

The information on this page includes disclosures as required by the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008 and by the General Provisions (Title I), Teacher Preparation Program Reports (Title II), and the General Provisions for Title IV (Part G) of the Higher Education Act (HEA). Also included are disclosures related to requirements in the HEA prior to the enactment of the HEOA, and the revisions and in the Higher Education Technical Corrections Act of 2009. This page does not include HEA program-specific requirements. Requirements for reporting information to the Department of Education are included only when they overlap with disclosure requirements.
